JOBI RICCIO - MAKES HER UK AND IRELAND LIVE DEBUT - THIS OCTOBER

Colorado-born, Nashville-based songwriter Jobi Riccio will make her UK and Ireland live debut this October, bringing the songs from her recently released second album, Face The Feeling (Yep Roc), to audiences across the UK and Ireland.  Riccio will be  supporting well-loved American songwriter John Craigie and the tour will include shows in London, Dublin, Manchester and Belfast.

Released on 15 May, Face The Feeling sees Riccio stretch beyond the Americana foundations of her 2023 debut Whiplash, embracing a more expansive, indie-rock-inflected sound without losing the intimate songwriting that first put her on the map.

There’s plenty to dig into on the new record: from the slow-burning intimacy of ‘A Little at a Time’ to the restless pull of ‘Pilar, NM’, the sharp-edged ‘Buzzkill’ and the expansive ‘Wildfire Season’, Face The Feeling finds Riccio pushing her songwriting into new territory while remaining fiercely personal.

Throughout Face The Feeling, Riccio finds masterful balance between extremes, indulging in the light and the dark, the subtle and the direct, the ecstatic highs and the mournful lows. “You have to chase what moves you, what’s exciting you,” the Nashville-via-Colorado musician says. For Riccio’s sublime debut album, Whiplash, that meant exploring growing up and coming of age, hoping to find a route away from chaos and pain. On the follow-up, she courageously wades into the uncomfortability and luxuriates in the catharsis - finding a remarkable strength in leaning into the power of change rather than resisting it.

In addition to the shifting inspiration, Riccio reaches beyond folk and country to find a new, more electric path through emotionally unguarded terrain. By merging the introspective storytelling of Americana with the restless pulse of indie rock, she reaches a deeper strength than that found in the works filling her already impressive résumé. Those heights include Riccio having received the John Prine Songwriters Fellowship Award at the Newport Folk Festival, earning an Americana Honours & Awards Nomination for Emerging Artist of the Year, and dazzling at the legendary Grand Ole Opry. She’s toured with legends and icons including Lucius, Jason Isbell, and Iron & Wine.

"I'm beyond excited to finally get out to the UK and Ireland, and to head back out on the road again with my pal John Craigie! I've heard only the most shining reports of the audiences of music lovers there, and I know it will be an incredible adventure. I tend to get the most excited on tour in the US to play cities where my favorite bands are from, and this will be two whole countries where so many of my all time favorites bands and songwriters are from; so it really can't come soon enough!"  JOBI RICCIO
