Rob Jones & The Restless Dream are excited to announce the release of their new album ‘Stars’ this Autumn, including the new single ‘A Girl I Know’ out July 11th.

‘A Girl I Know’ is a driving, Bob Seger-inspired tale of bad decisions and fleeting highs, layered in piano hooks and saxophones. Musically, it’s a joyride: all driving guitars, tambourines, and a horn-stacked outro worthy of the Blues Brothers. Lyrically, it’s a story in three acts — a man runs headfirst into hedonism, drowns himself in the thrill, and stumbles out the other side asking, “What if love could be all you needed?”

A Girl I Know is the third single from the eagerly awaited new album Stars — a cinematic, heartland-inspired journey through night-time England, guided by dreams, disillusionment, and the faint hope of redemption.  Recorded in Longsight, Manchester with producer Mark Lewis (Lauren Housley, The Northern Cowboys), the track captures the mania and melancholy of someone who’s lost — but maybe, just maybe, is starting to think he might be ready to be found.

Rob Jones & The Restless Dream is the project of UK singer-songwriter Rob Jones — a former teacher turned full-time musician, whose songs blend big choruses, rich instrumentation, and a storyteller’s eye for life’s detours. Rooted in classic songwriting and narrative-driven lyrics, Rob’s work draws influence from artists like Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty.

After walking away from a career in teaching, Rob dedicated himself into music full-time, spending his early thirties writing songs that wrestled with meaning, identity, and the pull between comfort and adventure. The result is Stars, a new album that unfolds like a journey through long nights, false starts, and fleeting moments of hope, all set against the backdrop of summer nights, city lights, and the half-remembered past.

The ‘Restless Dream’ — part band name, part motif — captures the tension at the heart of the record: the pull between the life you’re told to want and the one that keeps whispering to you in the dead of night. It’s about chasing something just out of reach — a feeling, a place, a version of yourself you’re not sure ever really existed. The idea runs throughout the record — from the sunrise shimmer of debut single ‘Rising with the Sun,’ to the swaggering ache of ‘A Girl I Know,’ to the closing ballad ‘If It Just Takes Time.’
