STEADY HABITS

New Single ‘Archer Street’

Out August 29th

“Best of British Country & Americana 2024" Holler

"An excellent band with tremendous potential...an exciting blend of 90's nostalgia" Americana UK

"...some mighty clever songwriting…merging pop hooks with alt-country twang" Country Queer

UK Indie-Americana band Steady Habits release ‘Archer Street’ on August 29th, the rock-laden, evocative final track taken from their forthcoming album Deviate, out September 19th.

Written about the breakdown of lifelong kinship in an unfamiliar city, ‘Archer Street’ captures the disillusionment that follows when someone you once trusted begins to drift away, the bittersweet territory of memory and loss. Full of tension and intimate detail, ‘I don't know what’s coming over me but I am not who I used to be’, Sean’s soulful and emotive vocals reach their peak, anchored in the band’s driving groove.

“So much of Deviate is about memory,” says frontman Sean Duggan. “This song, in particular, holds a special weight for me. I embarked on my first US tour when I was in my early 20’s, and it shook up my entire life. This song is about the strange distance that can appear between people in a place that doesn’t feel like home.”

The release precedes the Deviate album launch in Oxford on September 19th, followed by a UK tour in November. Steady Habits have been making waves in the UK this year, recently highlighted as a “Best of UK Country & Americana” by Holler, with releases picked up on BBC Cymru, BBC Ulster and featured on BBC Introducing. Their electric live performances and evocative songwriting have earned them their showcase at the 2025 Americana Music Week in London, and band has shared stages with artists such as The Hanging Stars, Our Man in the Field, and Morganway, gracing festivals like Black Deer, Truck Festival, and The Long Road Festival, where they are set to return for 2025.

The upcoming album was engineered by Chris Barker (Premium Leisure) and co-produced by James Wyatt (Sloe Flower Studios), capturing the raw, heartfelt songwriting and lush instrumentation that have become a Steady Habits signature, sitting somewhere between Jason Isbell and ROLE MODEL with a contemporary voice of their own.
