FLORENCE SOMMERVILLE

New Single

'Broken Pieces’

Out June 6th

As announced exclusively at The Libra, Camden, on Tuesday May 20 during Florence Sommerville’s sold-out headline show, the young Essex country singer-songwriter is set to release the new single ‘Broken Pieces’ on June 6th. This gutsy break-up song is the third track to be released from her forthcoming debut album Endless Horizon, following ‘(I’ll Be Your) Best Broken Heart’ and ‘California’ which both gained extensive radio plays across the UK and internationally.

So far 2025 has been a busy year for Florence. Following sold-out full band concerts in January, she headed to Nashville in March and performed at the iconic Bluebird Café, alongside three of Music City’s top songwriters Sally Barris, Rebecca Folsom and Isaac Gill. Since her return to the UK she has played shows across the South-East and has a busy summer ahead of her with more gigs in the calendar in Cheshunt, Chichester, Chelmsford, Kingston, Colchester, London, Ashford, Guildford and in July a short tour supporting Nashville-based singer-songwriter Eve Selis.

Here's Florence’s thoughts on Broken Pieces ….

“ “Broken Pieces" is the third single I’ve released so far this year, but it’s the first that is solely self-penned…writing and releasing a song that has wholly come from you and your mind is so special. Broken Pieces is about someone who is starting to realise their partner might not be as perfect as they thought, they're starting to see some ‘broken pieces’ along the edges of their relationship.”

Florence Sommerville, a singer-songwriter from the small village of Orsett in Essex, thrives on modern Country music. She’s been playing guitar since she was eight years old, writing songs since she was 12, and performing at open mics for most of her teenage years. When she was 14, she reached the final of the Open Mic UK competition held at the O2 Indigo Arena in London. She’s also played at several major festivals, including Latitude, Moseley Folk and Arts Festival, Maverick Festival, AMA Music Week (Nashville) and many listening venues around southern England.

On previous visits to Nashville, she has co-written songs with acclaimed songwriters Gary Burr, Jan Buckingham and Sally Barris, alongside appearing at the famed Commodore Grille, Hutton Hotel, Love & Exile and Tennessee Brew Works. Back home in Britain, Florence has opened for renowned stars such as Diana Jones, Tom Robinson, Annie Keating, Hannah Aldridge, Dan Owen, and the Hanging Stars. Last October she sold out her debut headline show at the Camden Chapel in London, and earlier this year, she celebrated the launch of her single at London's Green Note.

Florence’s long-awaited debut album, Endless Horizon will be officially released on CD (with four intimate bonus tracks) and available for Download on July 18th. Please get in touch for limited advance Promo CDs. There’s a raw, rootsy quality to Florence’s music that belies her youthfulness. She doesn’t arrive as the next ready-made Country star beauty figure Barbie doll; there is an unquestionable realness in the way Florence makes sense of life through her music.
